Happy Birthday, Nana!

We wish you a Happy Birthday! But just so you know, don't be looking for your gift in the mail or a card, for that matter. Barney ate your card (no, really, he did) and your gift isn't anything we can put in the mail. You can get your present in two weeks when you come to visit, hope that's okay.

Buster had his follow-up at the vet's office on Monday, in case any of you were wondering about his health, and the vet said he looks awesome and his leg/knee has healed up nicely and the muscle doesn't show signs of atrophy, so that means he is putting weight on it. So Buster was discharged and I expect him to have a full recovery! Whew. Jackson calls him Busterino sometimes, which is something I call him from time to time. It's so funny to hear it come out of Jackson's mouth!

Here are a couple of pictures from Gulf Shores last year. Cathy took these and I just got them from her. Jackson looks so little! He really loved whacking that pinata! This makes me ready to go back to the beach!

I am in the mood to decorate this house! We've been here for over two years, so you'd think I would say "redecorate," but I've never gotten around to decorating too much. Our room is just pitiful and I can't wait to do something in there, at least paint! And I definitely am wanting some living room furniture that actually fits in that room. Such an odd shaped space, it's hard to know what to do. This lady, The Nester, has got some great tips on what she calls "mistreatments," which are curtains on a budget! So that has me itching to just go buy some fabric and nail it up around my windows! Check it out!

We supposedly have a snow and ice storm heading our way, so it seems everybody is hunkering down! I hope we have snow for Jackson's sake so we can build a snowman and actually go sledding somewhere. Just no ICE, please. People in TN already drive crazy, they really don't need to put everyone else's lives in danger by driving on ice!

All this talk of snow and ice and all I want to do is put my toes in the water!

The Greatest Show On Earth!

I know he looks unhappy in this picture, but it's all due to having to look at the camera, not because he's not having a good time!

This is so funny! She tried to get a high five or even a little smile, but Jackson was having none of it. Didn't seem to faze her! She's all smiles!

The elephants and the tigers were my favorite! When Tom asked Jackson what his favorite part of the circus was, he said, "All of it!"

This little Hungarian had to be a serious nut job. There were about ten 500 lb. tigers in this cage with him. I mean these are massive animals. And he was just hopping around like they were kitty cats. I told Tom if it were me, the first eye contact I would make with one of them, I would probably pee on myself, which in turn would make them attack me. :( I'm not cut out for circus life!

Now, these Mexican boys just made me a nervous wreck. My palms were sweaty and I could have used a refresher of deodorant after watching them. They were 32 feet in the air just running around on these pendulum thingys. Every once in a while they would get too fast and one of them would lose their footing. Oh, my. Their mother must just be a wreck.

We had a great day at the circus! I hope it's a day Jackson will never forget. I know I won't forget it! :)

This is a hint of what we're doing on Saturday. You guessed it, the Ringling Brothers Circus is coming to town! I will have a lot more pictures to post after the weekend!

I have been experiencing computer problems again, so that's why I haven't posted in a few days. First I want to say Happy Birthday to Mary! Sorry that we dropped the ball on that! I hope your birthday was awesome!

I went to the doctor on Monday because of this head cold I can't shake and because of my foot that won't get better. I am tired of limping! They did an x-ray on it and it didn't show any stress fracture, so that's good. Hopefully I can get well and stay that way for a while!

It was Pajama Day at Jackson's preschool yesterday and he was so excited about it! He talked about it for a week! And they had a carnival where they played games and won toys and they watched a movie and ate popcorn. What else could a four-year-old want?

I have not been able to start painting his room yet either, which I have been intending to do for days! Maybe that's something I can start on this weekend. But I doubt it, due to all the work that I have taken on. It was slow for about a week or two and now I'm back in full swing! I guess that is a good thing! Sorry such a short post, but with me being puny here lately and the weather being so nasty, we have not done anything much to write about! I hope to have a good post about the circus, so stay tuned!

They Call Him The Streak!

This is how I caught Jackson riding his scooter through the house last night before his bath. I have lots of pictures of him, most of them too racy to put on the blog! ;) He loves his scooter and maybe the temps will be warm enough tomorrow for us to get outside so he can ride it with clothes on!

This is just a collage thingy that was a Facebook application and I thought I would post it here too. It randomly picked the pictures and I think it did a pretty good job. Some of my favorites in there. They're all from 2009. Time is just evil. Goes way too fast.

And here are some pictures from RateMySpace of a room that I am going to copy! :) This is what I should have done to start with. Why I thought my OCD tendancies would allow a winding road mural all over the wall is just beyond me. This will look much more put together with its straight, clean lines. And at least then I'll be able to hang some pictures on the wall, whereas before I couldn't because they would be covering up a car or truck or road! And I still love Jackson's bedding and figure he'll be into cars and things with wheels for another three years at least, so it should be all good.

Not a whole lot going on this week. Trying to stay in and stay warm, although tomorrow is supposed to be around 50 degrees! I've been just wanting to stay inside by the fire, so maybe tomorrow will help to get me out of my funk!

Goals, Not Resolutions!

I never like to do new years resolutions, but I can think of lots of goals that I have or things that could be improved upon, so I just put them down on this layout. But I can think of more. One thing I plan on doing is finding a church for us to attend. And there is one I have been wanting to visit, but it just seems like when it comes to Sunday morning, I just can't get myself motivated to get going. I guess I should add "stop procrastinating" to my list. ;)

Today the three of us went bowling. It has been so cold out here lately that all I want to do is stay under the blankets, so I thought it would be fun to get Jackson out. And he has only bowled once before, but loved it, so that's where we went. Tom and Jackson bowled, I didn't. I still have a gimp foot. Not sure what's wrong with it, but my right foot feels bruised and I have to walk with a limp. I'm going to try to get into the doctor this week if it has not resolved on its own.

After we bowled we played some games in the arcade there, got 150 tickets and Jackson got to pick out the ever coveted arcade toys, which were 10 plastic army men and four bouncing balls. UGH! Anyway, he L.O.V.E.S. that stuff, loves to pick stuff out all on his own! And so when we were leaving, he had his little hands on the top of the paper bag so sweetly that contained his prizes and he said, "This is the best day ever!" So sweet. And then he continued on to say that he had heard that from Spongebob.

We met Dad and Sherry yesterday in Jackson, TN, to exchange Christmas gifts since we didn't get to see them over Christmas, and Jackson got these cool straw glasses and also the sock monkey hat and mittens, along with LOTS of other cool stuff. There's a dinosaur egg sitting in water now waiting to hatch too that they got him and a butterfly kit where we send off for caterpillars and watch them turn into butterflies.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This is the group of neighbors who brought in the new year 2010! We got sillier as the night progressed...maybe it was the wine and such? Anyway, we had waaaaaay too much food, waaaaaaay too many spirits, and waaaaaay too much fun. We have the best neighbors! And while we were having our party here, Jackson was next door having fun with Sadie and Addy and the babysitters! It all worked out great!

I don't have any New Year's resolutions, but I should. It just seems like it snuck up on me! I more than likely will be entering the working world in the fall of 2010 once Jackson starts kindergarten. Yes, he will be in kindergarten!! Isn't that unbelievable! So 2010 will be a big year with lots of new experiences and memories...and I hope they're all GOOD!
