My Star Student!

Jackson was chosen Star Student this week at his preschool, so every day they have spent some time talking about special things about him. He has LOVED it! He has felt like a rock star! The poster above has hung in their classroom all week. He really, really loves his school, and I am sooooo glad!

The other day he was just calling out the months of the year and I knew I hadn't taught him that, and I asked him where he learned it and he said they sing a song at school. When I show up ANY earlier than 5:00 to pick him up, he starts to cry and tells me he's not ready to go, that they were just "in the middle of something awesome!" :)

I saw this idea on a photographer's blog (Mary Alice Duncan) that I read and I still haven't gotten the "perfect" picture, but I'll keep trying!

And here are some pictures I've been accumulating in decorating folder that I'll share. I can't wait to do my pumpkin topiary, but I guess I'd be jumping the gun a bit to do one this weekend, right? I wish I knew what blogs I got all these from, and I apologize for not being able to link back to them, but I'm too scatter-brained at the moment!

Jackson Turns 5!

It is truly unbelievable that my baby boy turned 5 on September 10! I know people always say not to blink, that it goes so fast, but I'm here to tell you it is moving at lightning speed! Sometimes it's hard for me to live in the moment with him at this age because I get so sad thinking about him growing up!

He couldn't be a sweeter boy. Really. I know it's a little disingenuous coming from his mother, but he really is a great kid. He did have his moments over the weekend, but they all got ironed out quickly enough. I am thankful every day to have been blessed with him. He is everything to me, and I love him more than I thought my heart was capable of. Happy birthday to my only only!

His party on Saturday was a huge success and he had pretty much the best day of his life, I'm certain. It was a Spongebob themed party and we had a Spongebob pinata, Spongebob cake and even Krabby Patties that looked they came straight out of the Krusty Krab! Thank you for those, Lesley Sawyer!

The day started off with soccer pictures at 8:30 a.m. Then soccer game at 9:30. All of the grandparents, except Mimi, made it for his game. He was so excited! He had the biggest cheering section of his whole soccer career! And as soon as the whistle blew and the ball got into play, Jackson kicked the ball towards the goal and SCORED! He was so proud of himself. Of course he scored for the other team, but still! I think he was a little embarassed, but he didn't come apart over it and the rest of the game played out well. Not sure who won or who lost, but I'm sure it didn't matter to Jackson. He was on Cloud 9 with everyone there watching him!
