A Day of Discovery

So we went on a field trip, as Jackson called it, yesterday with Sadie, Addy, Amy and Sara. We went to the Discovery Center. There were tons of different little stations for the kids to run around and visit. Jackson seemed to like the train tables and the water exhibit the best. Of course I never was able to get a picture of him looking at me and smiling or a picture of all three of them together, for that matter. But here is a smattering of the pictures I took:

Carrying coal from the box car to who knows where.

There were a couple of costumes kids could try on, but I wouldn't let him put the hood on because we probably would have brought home a nice case of head lice. No thank you.

Here Sadie and Jack are playing in the water exhibit. You could put little boats on one end and the current would carry them down to the other. I think they just liked getting their hands wet!

Sadie and Addy played with the cars and tire stuff, but Jackson, astonishingly, was not interested in that exhibit.

Here the girls are shopping. And it appears as if Sadie is saying, "I'm sure that lemon was on sale. Scan it again!"

This is the kind of stuff Jackson liked. A whole table full of roads and cars and garages!

"Thanks for shopping with us, come back again!"

Not sure what kind of contraption this is, but it was right up Jackson's alley!

Two little grease monkeys!

Now, this is a girl who is destined to be able to change a flat tire and change her oil when necessary. And that will come in handy because Jackson will probably need help!

The kids were wiped out by the time we were heading back home. Jackson stayed awake on the ride home, but as soon as we got home, he crashed and napped for four hours. When Amy dropped us off and we were going into the garage, Jackson said, "I had a great day." Very sweet.
