The Rockets!

This was Jackson's first year of any kind of organized sports, and he really enjoyed it. He played soccer. His team's name was The Rockets! I was keeping up with how many games they won or lost, but I lost count. They won more than they lost. They were a pretty good little team! The best thing is that our neighbor Sean was his coach, so he felt really comfortable with him, and Sadie and Drew, his friends since birth almost, were on his team!

I love this picture of him because I think it's one of the best he's taken, although he looks so grown up in it! I don't like that part of it!

It's official, I have a preschool graduate. This certificate is proof! :( I'm still waiting to see where he will be this fall. There are two schools where he's on a waiting list and I'm supposed to hear by June. I hope I hear soon! If he doesn't get into either one, I guess we can always sign him up late for kindergarten, although I would rather not. I still think it will be better to hold him so that he will be the oldest and not the youngest in his class.

I went to Sips 'N Strokes again Tuesday night and painted this Funky Guitar. Now I have two paintings from there. The next one I would like to do is called Funky Tulips. I want three paintings to hang in my hallway, so two down, one to go!

The Graduate!

Look at the little preschool graduate! This doesn't seem possible. I cannot believe how fast the time is going! We are holding Jackson back from starting kindergarten due to his late birthday, so he actually will have one more year of a preschool environment, although we're not sure where yet. He is on the waiting list at two places, so I'm hoping we hear something soon from one of them!

The graduation program was really cute and he looked so handsome! I searched everywhere the night before for a shirt, tie and pants since he had outgrown any dress clothes he had. But it all came together in the nick of time! The graduation ceremony was so cute and we videotaped it all. Nana and Papaw and Aunt Doris were able to come in and be a part of Jackson's "special" day and he was so excited about that. Papaw and Mamaw got him a fishing pole! He can't wait to use it the next time we visit Schnellville!

I have started a site on Shutterfly called Schneiderville Pictures where you can go to see any updated pictures and have them printed. Happy Mother's Day, Everyone!

This was my Mother's Day breakfast in bed. Yes, that is the lid to a storage container, but we don't have any serving trays and like Tom said, if I spilled my juice, it would be an easy cleanup! Those flowers are from various sources in our yard and Jackson made the card! I should have scanned it so you could see the inside of it. He drew me and my left ear is horribly misshapen! I also got this beautiful frame that I love. See below.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, but especially to my mother! Thank you for everything you've done for me throughout my life. I am very grateful. I love you! :)

Here's the reason Mother's Day is now a special day for me! I sure got lucky with this one!

Tom's birthday was Thursday and so I made lasagna and peanut butter pie. The lasagna was really good, but the peanut butter pie was entirely too rich. I think we would have been better off, and it would have saved me a heap of time, if we would have just dug out a spoonful of peanut butter and ate it! Anyway, I will be making that lasagna again for sure. Jackson and I bought Tom some outdoor solar lights to light up his stone walkway. I really like them and they put off a lot more light than I thought they would! I hope you had a great birthday, Tom!

The first card I made I had his age as 38. Duh. I just can't keep up with things anymore, much less how old people are! I thought for a whole year I was already 42, until I turned 42 in March and realized I had just missed my whole year of being 41! I need a do-over for real on that.

Jackson and I went to the Art Festival at Centennial on Friday. I love to walk around those things and I rarely miss them. I was worried the grounds would be too wet for them this year, but it was fine. The wind was horrible and blowing some tents down, but it was a pretty day otherwise. Here Jackson is eating his lunch, a corndog, at 10 a.m. He just HAD to have one and suddenly was "starving to death" when he saw the little booth that had them.

Tennessee In State of Emergency

I was on this exact stretch of interstate yesterday around 2:00 p.m. Thankfully, it didn't get this bad until I was already home. It was raining so hard that we were all going about 45 miles an hour on the interstate with our flashers on. We are still getting pelted with rain today. We have a small creek running through our back yard, but we are safe and staying inside.

I want to get out of this flooding and go back to the beach!

I had my RPR skills test yesterday, and it walked my dog. I haven't written that speed in 15 years, since I went to school. Anyway, I feel pretty good about two legs of the test and not so good about one leg. If I can somehow just pass ONE leg of it, I would be happy. I might get lucky and pass two, who knows? I feel confident I will be back in August to take some of it again. But it's fine. I am a little rusty, but just need a little MORE practice. Ugh.

This is a picture from Paul Johnson Photography's Web site. He posted a sneak peek of pics from Jennifer's wedding in March. I love this one of Jackson. I can't wait to see what else he took of him! He's pretty amazing.

I finally completed the photo book for Mrs. Peggy, Jackson's teacher, and ordered it. I had two moms who helped me, so that was good. I think it turned out pretty cute. Makes me wish I had time to do every major event in Jackson's life, but I'm, oh, four years behind! I really should do a baby book for him of his first month of life. I have LOTS of pictures of him from that time. I don't have any of him when he was at Vanderbilt for jaundice in that little incubator. That was just too pitiful! The book was the post above this one, I think.

More Soccer Pics

Jackson agreed to a mini photo shoot for me because the weather is getting so nice. So I got these pics of him. As soon as everybody's schedule permits, I want to have my neighbor take some family pics with Buster and Barney included. Hopefully soon...

Jackson had another soccer game on Saturday. Sadie made three points, Cole made 2 and Jessica made one! And Jackson really got in there and played better than he has been doing, and I guess it's because he is getting more comfortable with it all.
