HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I hope everyone had a good Halloween! Jackson was a train engineer. He was so good. He didn't mind wearing his engineer garb at all. He even caught on to the whole getting candy thing. He couldn't say trick or treat, but he would say boo sometimes. I think he enjoyed visiting all our neighbors, mainly because there were dogs at most of the houses, and he LOVES dogs. Stacy and Michael brought Wesley over to trick or treat. Wesley was a dragon! Very cute costume. He wasn't thrilled with wearing his hood, which was the head of the dragon, but he was still very cute! We didn't have near the trick-or-treaters that I thought we'd have. Our street is not very well lit, so maybe that's the problem. Anyway, I had fun just watching Jackson and Wesley. Here are some pictures from tonight.

Great Weekend!

Well, we had a really good weekend. Pa-paw and Ma-maw came to see us on Saturday, and we spent most of the day at the flea market. It is the largest one of the year. And let me tell you, it was packed! Jackson actually fell asleep sitting up in his wagon. But that was all he slept. He didn't sleep on the way back home or even after we got home. So I thought he'd go to sleep early last night. WRONG! He was awake until 10:00 or so. Ugh!

Here is a page of pictures. I took these a couple of days ago when I was trying to get Jackson used to his "engineer" cap for Halloween. He started acting silly, so I thought it would be a good time to take some pictures.



Then today they had a small party up by the pool here at Providence, so we thought Jackson would have fun. He loved this bouncy thing with the slide. We could hardly get him off of it. I was so afraid that he was going to get trampled because there were a lot of kids up there, but he was really careful. He even waited his turn up at the top. He is quite polite! Anyway, here are some pictures from today. I'll try to post again after Halloween night because I know I'll have pictures then!

These pictures are from the playdate we had with Wesley last Friday. Stacy and I took them down to the little playground that is in our community. They were really the only ones there, and they had a big time. In this picture, I asked them to hug a tree, so they did.

Getting into the "Spirit" of Things!

I finally got the faces painted on our pumpkins and got them out on the porch. I guess I'm pleased with how they turned out. There are definitely things I'll do differently next year when I paint some, but for now I'm satisfied with them. Tom's pumpkin is the bigger one, and he asked me the other day, "Why did you paint my tooth yellow?" I had to remind him that it's not an exact rendering of him, that it's just a comical pumpkin face. Ha!

We went to Opry Mills last night and purchased Jackson a pair of striped overalls and a little striped cap so that he can be a train engineer for Halloween. We also got him a red bandana and a whistle. I don't know if he'll wear it all, but we'll see. It will look something like this:

I'm going to end up doing things a little backwards, because I have some pictures I want to post on here from Friday when Jackson and Wesley played at the park, but I'm too tired right now to upload them. So the next post will have pics from them playing. There were a couple of cute ones.

Grandma and Grandpa Hart came to visit us today. They brought Jackson a box full of Matchbox cars and some books. Grandma Hart played with him down at the park. They had a really good time. Jackson fell off the little fake rock climbing wall, but he's okay. He just got too excited and was trying to climb up too fast.

The Great Pumkpin Patch!

Here are a couple of really cute pictures I took of Jackson on the window sill in the kitchen. I told him to say "cheese" and show me his teeth, so he said "chee" and this is what I took. The next one is just more of a close-up. Those are the curtains I've put up in the kitchen. I really like them.

We took a trip to a pumpkin patch that is located in Coopertown, Tennessee, on Saturday. It was about 40 minutes away, but we felt it was well worth the trip. It had lots of things for Jackson to do. There was a corn maze, a hayride (without hay), a good playground, a sand pit full of toys, a corn pit where kids could play, a petting zoo area, and then Jackson got to pick out his own little pumpkin. Except the one he picked out was rather puny, so Tom and I picked out a better one. Sorry, Jack. Here is a layout I did from the day:

And here are just some random pictures from the day. Jackson was worn out by the time we got home. He saw goats, turkeys, pigs, horses and cows.

I'll be doing a Kodak gallery that has all of the pictures from the pumpkin patch on it, plus from our trip home to Kennett. Well, that's really all that's gone on for us all week. I've been trying to get our porch decorated in the Autumn theme, but it's slow-going. I have three pumpkins that I want to paint faces on, but I can't find the time to sit down and do it all. Halloween Costume Search

I am in search of a costume for Jackson for Halloween. I've looked on eBay, but to no avail. I've attached a couple of pictures that would be funny.

This is a race car costume that would be right up his alley, plus he wouldn't have to wear anything on this head. It just might work. Hmmm....

What I'd give if Jackson would wear this to trick or treat in. It would be hilarious and make for some really good pictures for Mommy, huh? But no way would he leave that afro on for a minute!
